Sustainability Mini-Grants
You have great ideas in these areas! Let us give you some help to turn ideas into action and outcomes!
Sustainable Peralta currently has $10,000 in grants each academic year ($5,000 for the Fall and Spring semesters). We evaluate and award grants between $100 and $1000 at each Sustainability Committee meeting, so there’s a rolling deadline. After you submit your application, we’ll evaluate your grant at the next meeting.

Grant Goals
Innovation Mini Grants can be aimed at enhancing:
- Sustainable Curriculum and Program Development,
- Sustainable Facilities and Resource Use, and
- Community Education and Partnerships.
The grant objectives should be clear and have direct benefit to at least one of the three areas listed just above.
Grant Areas
This grant favors projects that help the Sustainable Peralta Initiative grow by attracting new participants, raising funds, or attracting other resources. We will also favor projects that reach under-represented and under-served populations; increase student participation; further institutionalize Sustainable Peralta; and/or can be easily duplicated or repeated. See the sample evaluation sheet for exact evaluation criteria.
We will strive to distribute awards equitably among Peralta’s four colleges and district office.
Examples of fundable projects might include:
- student outreach and education events,
- film screening
- foundation grant writing,
- materials for pilot green curriculum
- green course curriculum design,
- development of green community partnerships,
